Coronation Street star Sally Carman has ruled out the chances of having an on-screen affair with her real-life husband Joe Duttine. Sally’s character Abi Webster is set to face temptation in the coming weeks as she’s drawn away from husband Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell), as she continues to spiral in the wake of Mason Radcliffe’s (Luca Toolan) death last week.
Concerns have been growing for Abi after she desperately tried to save Mason’s life, as the experience triggered memories of her son Seb Franklin (Harry Visinoni), who died in similarly violent circumstances back in 2021. With her husband Kevin now facing a cancer diagnosis, Sally teased how Abi could cheat on him with a mystery face – but it definitely won’t be with real-life husband Joe’s character Tim Metcalfe.

I thought, “Would Abi do that?” and actually, yes, she is a bit of a wildcard. The pull and temptation is just too much for her, and it reminds Abi of being young.
‘There’s been a lot of sadness and loss in her life, and this may serve as a distraction from that. It’s too irresistible for her.’. She said of Joe’s character: ‘I can tell you, [Abi’s new love interest] is definitely not him!. ‘If they ever suggested it, I’d be saying ‘Good grief, no. That would be a nightmare!’.
