Couple turn old school bus into 'dream home' in six months and show off transformation

An adventurous couple have wowed people after turning an old school bus into their dream home in six months. Getting on the property ladder is no easy feat – not only are homes expensive to buy and run, it can often mean travel has to take a back seat so you can afford it. But one couple found a way set up their home on the cheap. Plus, they can also use it as a vehicle to get around and explore different places.
Tanya, better known as 'Queen Beep', and her partner Arya have raked in over 8.2million likes on TikTok after sharing a look inside their school bus home. The couple, from the US, purchased a 72-seater old bus for $7200 (£5,736) after finding a number of old buses for sale on Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist.
They hoped to teach themselves how to rebuild an entire vehicle into "the tiny home of our dreams." "Fast forward six months and we did it," Tanya said. On their YouTube page, Tanya said: "We are an adventurous couple who took on the challenge of converting a school bus into our very own home on wheels. Our mission is to live life to the fullest, while minimizing our impact on the environment.".
The pair, who previously lived in a van, spent $40,000 (£31,839) on ripping out the bus and turned it into a living space with a full kitchen, bedroom, bathroom with shower, and sitting area. The couple said: "In six months we built a school bus into our dream home. Nearly killed us. Tried to quit, half joked about setting it on fire. Ran out of funds so took on another job, worked on the bus evenings and weekends. Had help from friends and family and finally finished it.".
