Dancing on Ice has sent another star packing in the 2025 series. The ITV show was back on screens on Sunday night (February 2) for a brand new episode - fronted by Holly Willoughby and Stephen Mulhern. And returning to the ice this week were the likes Chris Taylor, Sam Aston and Charlie Brooks, in a bid to show off their best moves. However, for one famous face their time in the show was over . So far in the competition, we have said goodbye to contestants Chelsee Healey and Ferne McCann. Comedian Josh Jones is also no longer on the show, as he had to quit following an injury.
And now, Steve Redgrave has been sent home packing too. Steve was voted out during Sunday’s instalment (February 2). "I'm so not ready to say goodbye to you," Holly declared to Steve as he made his way over. She added: "I was just talking to your children and they were like he has loved every second of this, you really have haven't you?". He replied: "I haven't enjoyed the falling over, but it's been absolutely amazing and this young lady [his skating partner Vicky Ogden] has been incredible.".
Reacting to Steve's exit, fans shared their thoughts with plenty insisting it was about time. One person penned: "AMEN! STEVE'S OUT!" Someone else wrote: "I guess the public got it right this week. It's about damn time." A third chimed: "Finally he's gone.". Meanwhile fans were left fuming over the show not having a dance-off again. On X, one person declared: "Worse series of #doi #dancingonice not sure what they're trying 2 achieve not having a dance off? I know he's a sporting legend, but steve Redgrave has 2 go.".
Someone else wrote: "Still no dance off then ... It's a mistake ... I feel so sorry for whoever goes out tonight as it's likely it will be another person who deserves to stay.". Just hours before the live show, it was announced that pro dancer Vanessa Bauer had been forced to quit the skating competition due to sustaining an injury during rehearsals. Vanessa was partnered up with Love Island star Chris Taylor on the show. Due to her exit, she was replaced with Robin Johnstone who is Chris’ new pro skating partner.
Elsewhere, Chriustopher Dean became choked up during an emotional trinbute to members of the skating community who sadly lost their lives in the DC plane crash last week. Over 50 people are beloved to have died after an American Airlines passenger jet from Wichita, Kansas, collided mid-air with a Black Hawk helicopter while landing at Washington Reagan National Airport early on Thursday morning (January 30).
Holly said: “Before we move on, we are were all absolutely horrified by the tragic plane crash last week in Washington. "Among the passengers were several members of the skating community. " She then turned to judge Chris and said: "Chris we just wanted to speak to you because it’s incredibly sad.". He replied: "It is, 17 members of the skating commonly lost their lives and it’s felt all around the work and certainly we, and all of our Dancing on Ice family, want to send our sincere condolences to all the family and friends of the loved ones that they lost.".
