Dean Henderson is set to be available for Crystal Palace as they make the trip to face Leicester City on Wednesday evening. The goalkeeper was one of a number of players struggling with illness over the last week, missing training as a result. Henderson, Tyrick Mitchell, Maxence Lacroix, Jean-Philippe Mateta and Caleb Kporha have all been suffering with flu, but have all since recovered.

Eagles boss Oliver Glasner says the five are all back, as is Will Hughes who has been out with a foot problem, although Adam Wharton remains out after groin surgery. ‘Flu has gone, fortunately,’ Glasner told a press conference. ‘All players who were ill are available. JP Mateta is fine and back in training. Maxence Lacroix, Mitchell.

‘Will Hughes is available. He trained the last two days with us without any problems. ‘Will will be in the squad tomorrow, Adam [Wharton] will not — but he’s progressing. If everything goes in the right direction, I expect him back training with the team maybe end of January or beginning of February.’.

There is a doubt over Trevoh Chalobah for Palace as they are worried Chelsea could recall him from his loan spell at Selhurst Park. ‘It’s a tricky situation. I want to always be honest. Chelsea has the possibility to call him back from loan,’ Glasner admitted.

‘There’s a little bit of uncertainty at the moment: will they do it, when they’ll do it. We need clarity, he needs clarity. ‘Let’s see. Maybe Trevoh is involved, or not. He wants to stay here, but it’s a decision Chelsea can take. We are passengers; we are not the pilot who is flying the plane.
