Actor Dennis Quaid has gone viral for a rather chaotic interview that took place as he was trying to evacuate from the Los Angeles wildfires. Flames have been raging across LA for days now, with 16 people dead and thousands forced out of their houses with just the belongings they could carry while fleeing to safety.

[BGUK_3124264 - Los Angeles, CA - Internet slams reporter for interviewing Dennis Quaid as he ???frantically??? tried to evacuate his home amid LA fires. Dennis Quaid is among the Californians who had to pack up and leave their home behind but a NBC reporter didn???t make the process any quicker. The Substance actor and his family were forced to evacuate their Brentwood, CA home as the Pacific Palisades fire continued to close in. As he was loading his car full of belongings, NBCLA reporter Robert Kovacik rushed over to get an interview. Kovacik said: ???I???m going to walk with you if that???s okay. This is Academy Award nominated actor and one of my favorites, just a terrific man all the way around.??? He then asked Quaid to describe what exactly was ???going on???. Quaid responded: ???Tuesday we woke up to this big plume of smoke and that was a real exciting day for us here. And Palisades went up on Wednesday and it came within 150 yards of the house and these guys with their planes came down and put that retardant down there and those helicopter pilots they???re incredible at what they do. And I can???t say enough about the fire fighters. The first responders in this town. We got some good ones. And we???re fighting as hard as we can to save our city. Gosh, I never thought I???d say that.??? He went on to reveal he returned to his home with his dog after evacuating earlier in the week to hose the roof, grab a few more of his 17-year-old daughter???s things, and turn off his gas - which he urged local residents to do as well. He fought back tears as he reflected on the severity of the situation: ???We???ve all had a really big lesson. That our experience of reality can change in a moment.??? But Kovacik was later blasted on social media for ???harassing??? the star and even standing in his way while Quaid was holding a hamper of clothes and trying to pack his car. ???I just watched the most cringe news segment of my life,??? one X user Tweeted. ???It was surreal and bizarre.??? Another said that the reporter: ???Would not stop dogging Dennis Quaid while he was packing his car to evacuate. He even knocked on his car window after he rolled it up. Insane harassment.??? ???For Pete's sake, let Dennis Quaid pack his stuff and leave,??? another user wrote before calling the clip 'painful to watch???. And one X user tweeted: ???That newscaster following and interviewing Dennis Quaid was so embarrassing! How OBNOXIOUS! I felt bad for Quaid!??? *BACKGRID DOES NOT CLAIM ANY COPYRIGHT OR LICENSE IN THE ATTACHED MATERIAL. Countless citizens have lost their beloved homes and are now relying on the goodwill of strangers and their donations to get by while firefighters continue tackling the major blazes burning across the city. One of those who had to leave his property was Quaid, 70, who is known for movies such as Breaking Away, Great Balls of Fire!, and The Parent Trap. He was instructed to evacuate from his Brentwood home.

But while doing so, one thing he probably didn’t expect to happen was to be accosted by a TV reporter from NBC 4 Los Angeles. The footage has since spread on social media, with viewers stunned at how ‘overeager’ the journalist was, approaching Quaid with a microphone while he packed possessions into his car.

Being polite, though, Quaid still answered the presenter’s questions. ‘I’m going to walk with you, if that’s OK?,’ the reporter began as he introduced Quaid, who did not initially respond. The Substance star later shared that he had travelled back to collect some more important items after he and his loved ones had already evacuated.
