Dog dies and two taken to hospital after gas explosion on boat in North Wales marina Two individuals were rushed to hospital and a dog tragically lost its life following an explosion on a 'pleasure boat' at Chirk Marina in Wrexham, North Wales.
North Wales Fire and Rescue Service's Wrexham Greenwatch posted dramatic pictures and shared details of the incident on social media.
The two people managed to escape the fire with minor injuries and were transported to hospital by ambulance before the vessel completely sank, sadly resulting in the death of a pet dog.
A spokeesperson for the fire service said: "Green Watch had a challenging night, starting with a marine incident involving a gas explosion aboard a pleasure craft.
The fire then spread to a second vessel - a 40ft traditional canal boat - as firefighters with rescue pumps battled the flames.
