The entrepreneur and podcaster, 32, is the founder of the social media marketing company Social Chain and hosts The Diary of a CEO podcast. In 2021 he then joined the BBC business series, which gives other entrepreneurs the opportunity to seek investments from the panel.

The series returned to screens last night, with one of the pitches coming from cousins and co-founders Issa and Ash Patel who started their vitamin and supplement company Diso 18 months ago. Targeting a ‘rapidly growing global vitamins and supplement market in a novel way’, they were seeking £100,000 in return for 2.5% equity.

The pair, who have a decade of experience in the pharmaceutical industry between them, explained how their supplements dissolved in people’s mouth and was vegan and sugar free. They’ve already achieved over £270,000 in sales and are stocked in Boots, WH Smith and Holland Barrett.

Questioned by Dragon Sara Davies about whether there was science-based evidence to back their product, the pair spoke about the clinical studies currently underway. After they were told their experience was ‘impressive’ Ash also made a comment that left some viewers amused.
