There was an unexpected twist during the latest episode of the BBC soap when it was revealed who Gina had been with at the time of Cindy’s attack on Christmas night. As fans know, Gina had been unmasked as the person who threw a brick through a window to intimidate Cindy following her release from hospital earlier this month.

While her family initially believed this meant she was also her mum’s attacker, Gina revealed to dad George Knight (Colin Salmon) that she’d discovered he’d lied about his own whereabouts on Christmas night.

He’d claimed to have been injured while participating in an illegal boxing match after Gina and Anna had found a bloodied shirt of his. However, Gina confessed she later called the promoter, who said the venue had closed down. Upon realising that George could be back in the frame for Cindy’s attack, she took matters into her own hands. By throwing the brick, she hoped to protect him by pointing the finger in the direction of the ominous Ford family, who previously forced Cindy into witness protection.
