EastEnders' 40th anniversary week is getting closer, and it's just been revealed that the highly anticipated live episode will be airing on Thursday February 20th. It had previously been announced that in a soap first, fans will get to have their say and vote for who they want Denise Fox to be with, Ravi Gulati or Jack Branning. At the moment, the character is torn between her ex Jack, or Walford bad boy Ravi. It won't be Denise who decides who she ends up with though, it'll be in the hands of the BBC viewers.

The nail-biting result will be revealed during the live episode, which will open after the hour long episode which will air on February 19. Opening up on the first of its kind storyline, Diane Parish, who plays the role of Denise said she was 'shocked' when she first heard about it. "I was shocked when I found out, but I knew I was blessed to tell this story with two amazing actors, Scott Maslen and Aaron Thiara," she said. "It's going to be so interesting as I click with both of them in different ways.".

Diane is just as pleased about the interactive element of the show as fans are, as she continued: "I love that the viewers are voting on Denise's choice between two men, not the blokes' choice!". The star also gave some insight into the love triangle drama in the lead up to the episode, which includes a public kiss with Ravi. However, it's not all sunshine and roses for the pair in the lead up. Denise is left questioning whether Ravi is the right one for her after confronting him about his criminal activities.

"Denise is angry because Ravi has tried to convince her that he's a better person, and she sees that promise in him, but she walks in to hear him on the phone and realises he's still doing this behind her back," she said. The passion once again stands in the way however, as Denise and Ravi's kiss "happens on the street, in front of absolutely everybody, all the Panesars and all the Fox-Trueman-Brannings." She's then left devastated after thinking what it'll do to her daughter Chelsea, who previously dated Ravi. Of course, it causes devastation for Jack too.

Ravi and Denise reignited their former flame on Christmas Day, but they've already been caught out by Ravi's son Nugget, who's still grieving his grandad Nish. Will Nugget 'plot revenge' if the pair carry on their realtionship?. Previously speaking on the life episode, EastEnders Executive Producer Chris Clenshaw said: “We’re all so excited to give our audience their first ever chance to decide how one of our big storylines plays out. Their votes will determine whether Denise picks Jack or Ravi, with the outcome being revealed as part of our live episode. There is a lot to come over the next few weeks for all three involved, so it’ll be extremely exciting to see which way the audience choose to take the story!”.
