This homemade salt and pepper chicken dish is a game-changer, requiring only 15 minutes of prep time and 32 minutes of cooking time. Serving four, it's an ideal meal for the whole family and can be paired with jasmine rice or stir-fried pak choi for a well-rounded meal.
According to the BBC Good Food website: "Make this salt and pepper chicken in your air fryer for an easy midweek meal for the whole family.". Preheat the air fryer to 200°C. In a bowl, mix the chicken with cornflour, quarter teaspoon of salt, Szechuan pepper, and five-spice powder. Place the chicken into the air fryer basket and cook for 15 minutes, or until fully cooked. Once done, transfer the chicken to a plate and set aside. Next, put the chopped chilli, peppers, and spring onions into a bowl, reports the Express.
Drizzle with olive oil, then transfer the mixture to the air fryer basket and cook for 10 minutes. After this, add the pak choi leaves and cook for an additional five minutes. Once everything is cooked, move the vegetables to a bowl and mix with the chicken, honey, and rice wine. Stir it all together, then put the mixture back in the air fryer and cook for another two minutes. To finish, sprinkle over the remaining spring onions and serve with a side of rice and soy sauce.
