Viewers can expect deadly and horrifying scenes on Emmerdale next month, as a devastating accident leaves lives on the line. Last month an eerie flashforward clip revealed danger ahead for at least one village resident on the ITV soap. We saw a lake that had iced over, with someone trapped underneath trying to break free.
Amid speculation over who it is and who might die, the show has now revealed new teasers and images from filming ahead of the scenes hitting screens in February. Crew members have been filming night shoots with special effects to produce some epic episode content.
We will see multiple beloved characters fight for survival it seems, as a car crashes into an icy lake on the edge of the village. It's not been revealed if anyone dies but we could lose a major character if reports are anything to go by. It's a treacherous start to the year for several characters, with lives set to be hanging in the balance as the accident unfolds. Someone will become trapped under the ice as previewed in the flashforward, while their fate remains unknown.
The scenes are said to be gripping and terrifying, while the characters involved are yet to be announced. Emmerdale Producer Laura Shaw has now teased what's ahead, promising drama. She said: "With winter nights having drawn in, our audience are enjoying cosy nights indoors whilst our fantastic team at Emmerdale have been recording gripping drama to bring to their screens. The stunning backdrop of the village, from its rugged woodland to its wilder landscapes, set the perfect stage for what's to come.
