An intense week is set to unfold in the nation’s favourite soaps, as confirmed in my new spoilers, with unexpected developments across the entire genre. Coronation Street sees the Platt residence go up in smoke, putting a number of favourites’ lives in danger while EastEnders sees Phil Mitchell rushed to hospital in emotional scenes. Hollyoaks, meanwhile, lines up a must-see week as the dramatic end to Abe Fielding’s narrative is on the cards, while Emmerdale fills in the blanks of April Windsor’s story as the much-loved character stages her return.

Over in Neighbours, Cara Varga-Murphy reveals that she’s been in touch with scheming Chelsea Murphy, who was pregnant when she last saw her. It’s going to be quite a week in soapland so let’s take a look at what’s to come. 1. Phil’s low mood doesn’t go unnoticed by a friend of Norma’s, who accompanies her on a date with Nigel. The hard-man rushes off and, over at the Arches, his actions put him in serious danger. Harry arrives to find Phil in a dire predicament and calls for an ambulance.

2. Cindy awaits news from the police and attempts to make peace at home with a truce dinner. However, her true motivations soon come to light. Later, Cindy realises that her locket has gone – and reasons that the person who attacked her must have taken it. 3. Lauren voices her concerns about Bianca’s ‘confession’ to Sonia, saying that she knows Sonia also doubts over Bianca’s role in Debbie’s death.

The Panesar clan gathers together for Nish’s will reading, which Bernie has also been asked to attend. Nish’s final wishes are ultimately a shock to everyone. 5. Ravi makes a grand gesture to Denise and things soon get passionate between the two. Bernie, meanwhile, mistakenly thinks that a burglar has broken into No.20 – and Ravi and Denise’s relationship is exposed soon afterwards!.

6. Nigel’s date with Norma goes well but he’s left upset when he sees Phil being loaded into an ambulance. 7. With Sarah’s birthday on the horizon, the Platts plan to gather together for the occasion. Later, someone sets No. 8 on fire. Sally spots the blaze and announces it in the bistro. Nick races to the rescue and finds Toyah unconscious on the floor of the property while Max is trapped inside. Will he survive?.

8. Abi confronts Toyah over reporting her to social services, but when Toyah accidentally spills a bottle of red wine, she is reminded of Seb covered in blood and suffers a panic attack. As Toyah attempts to help, Abi smacks her and leaves her on the floor of No.8, just as it goes up in smoke. 9. Leanne joins Nick in the hospital waiting room, desperately hoping for news on Toyah. Nick accuses her of starting the fire but Leanne assures him she had nothing to do with it. However, as Leanne looks for her purse, she finds a box of matches.

10. Amy explains to Steve that she left several messages but her phone died and she lost her car keys, meaning that she had to spend the night wandering the streets. Guilty Steve makes out that he had an early night. 11. Having failed to locate Abi, Debbie shares her suspicions with Kevin. 12. Carla visits Rob once more in prison and informs him that he’ll be tested to see if he’s a suitable donor. Rob, however is annoyed to discover that the test will take place in prison – not in hospital.

13. Marlon continues to push himself in the quest to find April – against everyone’s wishes – with Ross urging him to slow down. PC Swirling later arrives with big news, with the policeman informing them that April has been located. 14. In a very special episode, April’s tragic story is revealed. 15. When questioned by Caleb on the subject of his alleged one night stand with Ruby, Cain denies everything. Can he convince Caleb to drop this investigation? Or will the truth, much like it always does in soapland, come out after all?.

16. Joe creates an enviable vision of working out in Dubai, with Noah excited about the prospect of such a thing when his older brother suggests that he pull a few strings to land him a job there. Charity urges Noah to proceed with caution but he refuses to listen. 17. Kim clocks what is going on with Joe and Dawn. Joe uses his painkiller story to quell her suspicions, which seemingly does the trick, as passion ensues between Joe and Dawn once more.

18. Leela has doubts about killing Abe but Mercedes, Cleo and Peri reckon it’s the only way. They invite Abe over but he sees through their plan and makes an escape, cornering mum Marie in The Hutch. When Marie refuses to help, he takes her captive, holding her at knifepoint as he demands car keys from the customers. 19. Sienna struggles to get past Dilly’s murder and the situation is complicated further when Martha mentions that she may have let slip to Abe about where Dilly’s body is buried. Sienna fears that the clan’s murderous actions will be exposed.
