Emmerdale star Mark Charnock has let slip April Windsor's fate after she went missing. Spoilers for next week on the ITV soap confirm that April Windsor (played by Amelia Flanagan) is found as PC Swirling arrives with some news. However, the pair are asked to sit down before they are told April has been found - but is she alive?.
A special episode will also air next week, which will show April's tragic story as Marlon and Rhona struggle with the new when PC Swirling gives them an update on April and what happened to her, with it being made unclear whether she's alive or dead. However, speaking about the big scenes, Mark - who plays Marlon - has seemingly teased what fans can expect going forward and if April will end up being OK, or if we will find out a much sadder fate.
Speaking about the special episode dedicated to April, Mark told The Mirror and other press: "It's incredible and she's incredible in it and it fills in all the gaps the audience have had so far. I'm really proud of the show for doing it. "I think it's a wonderful piece of drama that's going to be really significant going forward. You see the alternate life that she's been living that will come to be a major problem for Marlon going forward because he can't comprehend it.".
He also explained how things weren't "straightforward" for the family in the future as they come to terms with April's ordeal. Could this be a clue April is alive and will be back in Emmerdale soon enough?. "It's not straightforward; it's almost being like missing in your house. The old them has gone. I think the good thing about it is that it'll reunite the family because they're all at a level playing field trying to make it work for her," he said, "They're all treading on egg shells - it's not just Marlon - and I was saying before, it's like they've been searching this human haystack and now they've got the needle back, it's just a different being, with different reference points and a different attitude.".
