Teaming up with Rocking Horse Media, Daisy is set to star in a ‘hard-hitting’ drama called Storm, playing the lead role of Lacey Dean. In a video posted to Instagram, Daisy explained that Lacey is also a child star from a soap opera, but that is where the similarities between character and actress end.
She went on to reveal that Lacey suffered abuse at the hands of a co-star who had previously been accused of a similar crime. When the co-star is nominated for a lifetime achievement award, Lacey must decide whether to accept the money she is offered to pay tribute to him, or expose his abuse.
Daisy also teased that the cast for the drama is set to be made up entirely of soap stars, though kept tight-lipped about who will be joining her on set. ‘I feel so privileged to have been approached to play the lead role of Lacey in “Storm”,’ Daisy said in the caption of the post.
‘Especially because this original drama will raise awareness of something so serious and harrowing for the survivors who have experienced it, and that is historical abuse. ‘The script was first written over four years ago and, whilst it’s entirely fictional, the fact is that what happens to Lacey in “Storm” really does happen to innocent people in real life, so this is a story that needs to be told and I am privileged to have been chosen to tell it on behalf of all survivors everywhere.
