Summary at a Glance

I suspect many readers will equate Trump and Elon Musk with holding fascist beliefs without properly understanding what this ideology is.

David Frencel (MetroTalk, Fri) says Donald Trump can’t be a fascist because the US is a democracy.

Trump is not an ideologue, that would be too much effort for him, he is a conservative and a popularist who thinks that war is bad for business and lower prices benefit the working person.

And with enough control over the levers of power (such as perhaps control of both legislative houses and a majority in the Supreme Court) this might not be the case in the US for much longer.

Iran, North Korea and to an extent, China, are all fascist countries and, it should be noted, are enemies of Trump’s America.
