A former child actor who starred in an Oscar-winning 00s blockbuster franchise has delighted excited fans during a recent appearance. William Moseley shot to fame playing a lead role in 2005’s film adaptation of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe,. Moseley, now 37, was cast as Peter, the oldest sibling in the Pevensie family, who are all evacuated to the countryside in World War II and discover the magical world of Narnia at the back of a wardrobe.
He would appear in two further Chronicles of Narnia movies – 2008’s Prince Caspian and 2010’s The Voyage of the Dawn Treader – alongside Anna Popplewell, Skandar Keynes and Georgie Henley, who played his siblings Susan, Edmund and Lucy. The star popped up on social media over the Christmas period after collaborating with literary project The Queen’s Reading Room, the official book club of avid reader Queen Camilla.
Appearing as a Narnia expert for a talk filmed at the Old Library at Magdalen College, Oxford, Moseley spoke about his time playing Peter, his personal connection to the world created by author C.S. Lewis and also read a few extracts from the books. Fans were loving his performance but were also distracted by his good looks, with Edwina Forkin commenting: ‘Beautiful voice and beautiful person.’.
‘This is now my Roman Empire,’ wrote @hope24seven, while @eleanorevery_ shared: ‘I could watch this on loop I love everything about this. William has always been the sweetest person.’. Noelle Loparco cut to the chase though, responding with: ‘Oh whyyyy are you so devilishly handsome and wonderful!?’.
