SAINSBURY'S, Tesco and Aldi are among the shops slashing prices just in time for Christmas dinner. With budgets tight for many this year, some of us may be struggling with the often hefty costs of putting on a Christmas spread. But major supermarkets have answered our prayers, dramatically slashing vegetable prices.

Festive feast essentials like carrots, potatoes and the all-important Brussels sprouts are among the discounted foods which start at just 15p. However some customers should be aware that they need to be signed up for loyalty schemes in some cases, though this can be done for free.

The exact veg discounted varies and we've included just the ones that are part of the offer, plus the total cost and weight, where available. Tesco and Aldi offer the lowest price per 100g overall, but with just a penny difference between them and other retailers, it’s worth considering location and availability.

If you’re a Nectar card holder, Sainsbury’s deals are a great option, while Lidl’s inclusion of shallots and swede offers more variety. Be sure to stock up early—these deals are only available while stocks last, and with prices this low, supplies could run out fast.

As always remember to compare prices and keep an eye out for a better deal. Here's what you can get and where. From Thursday, December 19, to Tuesday, December 24, Asda shoppers can bag these vegetables for just 15p each in-store or online. Prices are valid in-store now until Christmas Eve but shoppers will need a Tesco Clubcard to cash in on the deal, saving loyalty members up to an impressive 89%.
