A MAJOR supermarket has slashed the cost of their veggies to just 8p as shoppers rush to bag a bargain. Asda have massively reduced the price of their produce - including carrots, parsnips, Brussels sprouts, broccoli and potatoes - just days before Christmas.
Budget supermarkets usually offer mega discounts around this time of year and mark up veg at around 15p. But this year a wide range is available for just 8p as industry giants battle it out to provide the best deals. "Asda selling veg for just 8p," shared one shopper, "Wooop the cheap veg is out", added another.
"No loyalty card needed! Asda," someone else pointed out. One woman shared a picture of her haul with the caption: "Carrots and potatoes 8p and sprouts and broccoli 10p from Asda. "Got all this for 72p.". Asda's deal will be running from December 19 until December 24 which means shoppers have plenty of time to load up the trolley with all the trimmings without emptying their wallets.
