A MAJOR supermarket is further slashing the price of a Christmas dinner essential to just 9p in a festive price war. Starting tomorrow, Lidl will lower the cost of Christmas vegetables, making their offer more affordable than any other supermarket. The offer will be running from December 19 until Christmas Eve and means shoppers can load up the trolley with all the trimmings without emptying their wallets.

It comes after the supermarket first reduced prices earlier this week. For just 9p, shoppers can secure staples such as British Parsnips (500g), British Carrots (1kg), British Brussel Sprouts (500g), Echalion Shallots (300g), British Swede (each) and British White Potatoes (2kg).

The price drop means customers can enjoy a festive feast with all the trimmings for just £1.83 per head or £11 for a family of six. Prices of gravy, stuffing, and Yorkshire puddings have already plummeted this week, available at 99p and 40p. Here's what Lidl's festive list includes.
It comes right after Morrisons and Asda have lowered the cost of Christmas vegetables to just 10p. Asda's discount isn't just for members and won't require a loyalty card. But at 9p, Lidl's offer is now more affordable than any other supermarket. Other supermarkets, including Tesco, Sainsbury's and Aldi have similar promotions with prices starting at 15p, but some also require a loyalty card.
