Furious Michael van Gerwen can't hide true feelings as Luke Littler bosses World Darts final

Michael van Gerwen could be seen angrily muttering to himself after watching Luke Littler storm into a 4-0 lead in the World Darts Championship final. The Dutchman was the underdog heading into Friday night's mouthwatering final at Ally Pally despite the fact that Littler, 17, had never won a world title after falling short last year.
But 'The Nuke' raced into a 4-0 lead to leave Van Gerwen with a mountain to climb - and he couldn't help but let his frustrations show as he walked off stage in the interval. He was shown looking furious while Littler revelled in the moment on stage as fans went wild in the background. Van Gerwen returned to the stage knowing there was little margin for error in his bid to claim a fourth world title.

Former PDC champion John Part sympathised with Van Gerwen in the wake of Littler's relentless start to the final. He told Sky Sports: "It's almost like a cat toying with a mouse from Luke Littler, make him [MVG] think he's doing OK then smash him with a 180 and get to a finish first. This is cruel stuff.".
Van Gerwen did, at least, earn some respite by winning the fifth set to eat into Littler's lead. The teenage sensation hit right back to make it 5-1, but Van Gerwen rallied to make it 5-2 before the break.
