Gardeners' World's Monty Don addresses 'faking it' claim as he reveals 'we tweak reality'

Monty Don, the beloved host of Gardeners' World, has spilled the beans on a big secret behind the making of the popular BBC show. The gardening guru confessed that "we tweak reality" during a recent chat with fans, revealing: "So, for example, this last year there was one filming day when it hammered down with rain".
Instead of persisting to film in the harsh weather, the 69 year old shared that they had to temporarily halt filming while everyone sought shelter in a potting shed and dried off the cameras. However, 40 minutes later, after the drenched cameras were now dry and ready for action again, the crew encountered a rather inconvenient problem.
Having initially filmed during the rain showers earlier in the day, the crew were faced with a continuity issue. It would have been confusing for viewers if the show had suddenly switched from soaking weather conditions to dry without any time apparently having passed.
Monty went on to explain how the situation unfolded: "A minute ago you had wet hair and looked sopping, now you have dry hair and you've had a cup of coffee. So there was only one thing to do.". The solution was straightforward, as Monty enlisted the help of a nearby prop and gardening tool, a hosepipe, to create artificial rain, adding: "Well, it's not exactly faking it - it's just making it all a bit more real," reports the Express.
