The TV presenter, 50, caused upset among viewers of the popular ITV breakfast show earlier today when discussing the health of the professional darts player, 17, admitting that he is ‘worried’ for him. Appearing alongside co-hosts Sean Fletcher and Kate Garraway, Adil admitted that he knew his comments ‘might not be very popular’ before continuing to say he is worried for the teen who he claimed is getting ‘the look of a darts player’.
He added: ‘He is though. If I were his mum and dad, I mean, he’s sort of – look at him. He’s admitted he has pizzas before a match and sits there playing computer games. I just think I’m a bit worried.’. Kate, 57, hit back, questioning her co-host’s comments, gently reminding him that the teen is ‘so successful’ for his age and Adil was ‘fretting’ as it’s normal for most teenagers to enjoy a bit of pizza.
She then joked that her co-host should pop down to the darts competition with a ‘carrot’ if he is that worried. Adil appeared to see the joke in her suggestion and added: ‘Just before the final, I’ve brought a nice little salad for you from Pret,’ before noting: ‘He’s brilliant though, I absolutely love him, he’s great.’.
