Gordon Ramsay's company makes blunt statement on Gino D'Acampo allegations

Gordon Ramsay's production company has issued a statement on allegations of "inappropriate behaviour" made against TV chef Gino D'Acampo. The former This Morning star has been accused of "sexually inappropriate behaviour" over more than 12 years. ITV News reported on Thursday that dozens of people have claimed that D'Acampo made lewd comments, caused discomfort, and uttered sexually suggestive remarks while working with them - which the chef has denied.

Before these allegations hit the press, the 48 year old was known for his travel series with Gordon Ramsay and Fred Sirieix. Studio Ramsay, which produced Gino's Italian Family Adventure and co-produced Gordon, Gino and Fred's Road Trip in 2018, has since issued a statement: "Studio Ramsay have not worked on a series with Gino D'Acampo since 2022. "We take all allegations of inappropriate behaviour and workplace misconduct seriously, promptly investigate, and take appropriate remedial action when warranted.".

The ITV show Gordon, Gino and Fred: Road Trip came to an end in March 2023 after Gino declared he wouldn't be returning for future episodes, fuelling speculation of a rift among the renowned trio. The Italian-born chef addressed these rumours during an appearance on Heart Radio, reports the Express. He shared: "I love the boys, Gordon is a cool guy, Fred we've known each other for a long time. What happened was we tried to put the dates down to do the show and then all of a sudden they get cancelled.

"We were supposed to film next month in May, and end of January they told us we're no longer filming in May it's probably going to be October and November.". Gino explained: "This is the second time it's happened in a year. So I said, 'we can't do that because everybody has a block of dates, we need to work, we need to support our family.' They said 'this is what it is, we need to be able to move things around.'".

The chef expressed frustration: "The contract was also getting bigger and more stressful, so I thought let me get out of this before the friendship is going to suffer, I'd rather have the friendship and not have the show.". Regarding the allegations of sexually inappropriate behaviour, Gino issued a statement, which read: "I have never been made aware of these matters previously, and the allegations are firmly denied.".

He insisted: "I would not do anything that I thought would upset or distress anyone. This is simply not in my nature. I do not recognise the version of events being put to me.". Further adding: "I am a father, husband and have worked with well over 1,500 people on around 80 productions in my career, which I have been so proud of. I take such matters extremely seriously and the suggestion that I have acted in an improper way against is deeply upsetting.".
