ITV viewers are over the moon to see the 1960s-set drama return to the small screen with DI Geordie Keating (played by Robson Green) and Reverend Will Davenport (Tom Brittney) back as the village’s crime-solving duo.
Actor Brittney has been in Grantchester since season four, following the departure of his predecessor, Happy Valley star James Norton, as Reverend Sidney Chambers.
His final scenes in Grantchester will not be shown until episode two, and Brittney previously revealed under what circumstances the beloved reverend will leave.
