Britain's biggest fast food chains have found themselves facing off with a new unlikely rival - as Greggs expands its hot menu selection to include burgers and wraps. The budget bakery chain announced a huge menu-shake up as it looks to take on the likes of McDonald's, KFC and Burger King with its new range. From Thursday, 6 February, a BBQ crispy burger, BBQ chicken wrap and crispy chicken bites will join beloved staples in the hot made-to-order range across 150 stores.
The BBQ crispy burger, available for £4, is a 'new twist' on an old favourite, featuring chicken breast coated in crispy crumbs, salad leaves, topped with BBQ sauce and mayonnaise, and served in a soft corn top roll. Meanwhile, the BBQ Chicken Wrap, priced at a cool £3.80, includes Greggs' Southern Fried Chicken Goujons, salad leaves, tomato, and cucumber, topped with BBQ sauce and mayonnaise and enveloped in a soft tortilla wrap.
Both items are part of the Hot Sandwich Deal, which includes a hot sandwich, wedges, or side salad, and a drink for just £4.95. Joining the two new moreish additions is the all-new Crispy Chicken Bites, comprised of tender chicken pieces coated in breadcrumbs - trialled in select stores across Birmingham. Although the new menu will be available at selected stores across the UK, Greggs hopes to roll out the items to over 300 stores by the spring.

McDonald's McCrispy BBQ smokehouse, meanwhile, sets back fans a whopping £6.49. Greggs has also announced a number of old favourites will make a nationwide comeback, including the Japanese-inspired Katsu Chicken Bake, available for £2.10.
For those with a sweet tooth, the Cherry Bakewell Muffin is set to return, priced at £4. Additionally, the Cinnamon Swirl Latte will return to Greggs' hot drink menu, as well as the Cinnamon Flat White, both available from £2.75 for a regular. As the sun slowly emerges from gloomy British skies, fans can also opt for an iced version, in the form of the Over Ice Cinnamon Latte, priced from £3.10. It comes after Greggs launched its first ever fish finger sandwich in May, sending fans into a frenzy.
A childhood staple, the Fish Finger Sandwich (from £3.90) is available with a choice of either ketchup or mayo, and is made from a lightly battered cod fillet fish, dressed with iceberg lettuce inside a soft-corned top roll. Meanwhile, Greggs fans have been left furious after the cost of a sausage roll increased for the second time in six months. The bakery chain bumped up the price of its classic savoury pastry by 5p in January, meaning it now costs £1.30.
It is the second rise in less than a year with the cost being increased from £1.20 to £1.25 in July. A cup of coffee will now also set you back £1.70. Overall, the price of a Greggs' sausage roll has shot up by a staggering 30 percent since 2022, when it was priced at just £1. Hungry customers at the branch on Shields Road in Newcastle slammed the popular bakery chain - that has also hiked the price of coffee from £1.60 to £1.70. Linda Johnson, 74, a retired quality control inspector, said: 'It's now £3.90 for four sausage rolls. I wouldn't pay that - I would tell them to stick it.
