Harry Kane revealed that he wants his friend Eric Dier to stay at Bayern Munich after their 3-2 win over Wolfsburg on Saturday. Dier's contract with the German giants expires in the summer after he joined them from Tottenham on loan in January 2024, with the option to stay permanently for an extra season.

Since his arrival, he has made 31 appearances, but his playing time has withered recently, starting just three league games this season. The England international has struggled for consistent appearances in Bayern's starting XI, below Dayot Upemecano and Kim Min-jae in the pecking order at centre back.

However, Kane insisted that Dier is still an important weapon in Vincent Kompany's defence, and credited his performances when he has been handed the opportunity. When asked if he wants his former Spurs pal to extend his deal at the Allianz Arena this summer, Kane said: 'Eric's been great, he's been waiting patiently.

Harry Kane revealed that he wants Eric Dier to stay at Bayern Munich beyond this summer. Dier has struggled for game time under Vincent Kompany this season, making just three starts. He is behind Kim Min-jae and Dayot Upamecano in the centre back pecking order at Bayern.

'Obviously [Upamecano] and Min-Jae have been fantastic this season, so Eric's just had to bide his time. 'He's come in the last couple of games and done really, really well, and got two clean sheets, so, yeah, of course I'd love Eric to stay. 'I guess that's between him and the club, I haven't had any conversations with him, so we'll have to see.'.
