'He's been divorced three times but I don't judge people': Find out if it was a match for Maria and Jon on this week's Blind Date

MARIA, 62. Single for 20 years, with a 28-year-old daughter. Dating Past?. I’ve been married twice. The first time was for 16 years and the second was for just a year. He was in love with a woman he worked with and, as she wasn’t going to leave her husband, he married me instead. At least I got a fabulous honeymoon in the Maldives out of it! Since then, I’ve dated some fascinating people.
Pre-Date Nerves?. I was nervously excited. But, if anything, my daughter was more excited than I was. Maria (pictured), 62, is looking for a fun, kind, sexual guy who cares for others and the world. First Impressions?. Jon is handsome, with lovely eyes. At the table, he gave me the option of where to sit and I chose to face the front so that I could see out onto the street. Guilty as charged – I’m nosy.
Easy To Talk To?. Yes, we talked as though we had known one another for ever. Jon told me about his passion for dancing. He competes in Latin and ballroom and is, by all accounts, rather light on his feet. I told Jon about my work and he said he could see why I am so good at it. I’m a good listener and realise life is fleeting, so I don’t sweat the small stuff.
Embarrassing Moments?. We both chose fish and it came with half a lemon tied in a piece of muslin. I didn’t understand that you squeeze the juice out through the fabric. Jon was a gentleman and pointed out how to do it. Did Sparks Fly?. When you are older, what counts in another person is that they are a decent human being, which Jon is. Those qualities are more important than chemistry. Having said that, I’m good at flirting, and people do tell me I’ve got charisma.
