Holly Willoughby was forced to miss out on parts of her children's lives after a plot to kill her. The Dancing On Ice presenter was left stunned on October 5, 2023, when police informed her of a sickening plot to kidnap, rape and murder her. Gavin Plumb has been secretly planning to attack the star and had gone to extreme lengths to fulfil his twisted plans, with some of the details being too disturbing to report.
Holly, 43, was rushed away to safety after coming off air on This Morning, with her friend Alison Hammond stepping in to replace her. Plumb had contacted a man in America to help with his sickening plans but had no idea that he was actually speaking to an undercover police officer.
On July 4, 2024, he was found guilty of soliciting murder, encouraging or assisting the commission of kidnap, and encouraging or assisting the commission of rape and was sentenced to life in prison with a minimum term of 16 years for his vile crimes. Holly bravely waived her right to anonymity but her victim impact statement was deemed classified.
Now, Holly has opened up in a rare interview and shared the toll the plot had on her family life, explaining she was forced to stop taking her children to school. "I've spent a long time not being able to take my kids to school," she said. The star went on to tell The Sunday Times Style Magazine: "I know, the school run, every [other] parent, they'd be like, 'Christ, you absolutely dodged a bullet there.' But there have been so many assemblies I haven't been able to go to, so many things I've missed. Harry [her eldest son], is doing his GCSEs at the moment, this is his last year of school before he goes off to college and A-levels and stuff.
