Hollywood actor Zendaya has revealed that she got heatstroke from dehydration on the Dune: Part Two set after trying to avoid peeing herself. The 28-year-old actor plays Chani opposite Timothee Chalamet’s Paul Atreides in the epic Denis Villeneuve adaptation of the bestselling sci-fi series by Frank Herbert.
To recreate the arid landscape of the desert planet Arakis, the majority of filming took place in areas known for their hot climates such as Abu Dhabi, Jordan, Namibia and Italy. Unfortunately for Zendaya, the set up of the filming location meant that the bathrooms were always a ‘hike’ away from where the actors were shooting, causing the screen star to worry she would pee her pants or even s**t herself in the process of needing the toilet.
So, she decided to not drink any water. The Challengers star told W Magazine: ‘It was very hot, and I remember thinking, “Oh, man, the bathrooms are so far away,” because we had to hike to the locations. ‘If you have to pee, you need at least 10 minutes to get out of the costumes.
‘I was like, Damn, I don’t want to drink too much water. I had such a fear of peeing myself or shitting myself, honestly, in the suit on set.’. But this plan soon backfired, as she explained. ‘One day, I didn’t drink enough and I had a heatstroke. I felt so barfy. I remember calling my mom on the bathroom floor, saying, “I feel terrible.” She was like, “Did you drink water today?” I said no.
