BRIDES can spend hundreds of thousands trying to find the perfect wedding dress for their big day. But one savvy wife-to-be has revealed how she saved herself a tonne, after snapping up a stunning beaded gown in her local charity shop. The gorgeous sheer dress featured elaborate beading and pearl details , as well as underwired cups and a thigh-high split.
In a video on her TikTok page, Chiara revealed she'd come across the dress in a Goodwill store, and had paid just £6 for it. "Went to Goodwill and just got my wedding reception dress for $7.99," she wrote over the top of the clip. "Oh this is definitely A FIND," one person commented on the video.
"I got my actual wedding dress at goodwill! 1930's vintage in perfect condition," another added. "The way my jaw dropped on the floor," a third wrote. "Good for you!" someone else said. "The cheaper the better! Save that money girl! Buy a house or spend it on the honeymoon!".
"This is the best advice!" Chiara replied. "Msssss GURRRRL!! The class is waiting! Show us! It’s GORG!" another pleaded. And Chiara obliged in the next video, as she showed what the dress looked like on. Calling the beading "amazing", she added that the bottom half of the dress fits her "like a glove", and she's "absolutely in love with it".
However, as she's larger on the top, she's having to get the dress tailored to make the dress fit better. "It’s so beautiful!! New straps would make it even better but you are going to shine. WOW!" one person commented on the video. "Yes!! I am getting new straps, thicker lining and he explained how he will expanded the chest without ruining the beads!" Chiara replied.
