NADA, 24. SINGLE ‘for ever’. No children. Dating Past?. I've been on dates, but never had a relationship. Men often tell me I look ‘exotic’ which I don’t like – it makes me sound like a piece of fruit. Pre-Date Nerves?. Yes! But I was ready to embrace it. I was hoping we’d go for formal introductions – I don’t like men who come in for a hug. Another bugbear is men looking like they’ve just got up. I hoped my date would be dressed well, like for a job interview.

First Impressions?. Good – Darshan was on time. We shook hands and I could tell he was quite nervous, so I took over and organised the drinks. Darshan looked smart. It was clear he had made an effort. Nada (pictured), 24, is looking for a respectful man who doesn’t swear.

Easy To Talk To?. Yes, Darshan is Sikh so I checked he drinks alcohol before ordering my cocktail. He chose a chocolate martini which I thought was an odd choice to drink with a meal. I told him I had prepared some blind date questions. I asked him what animal he’d be; I said I’d be a cat as I’m independent and like attention – on my terms. Darshan simply said ‘a husky’ because they’re ‘cool’. He didn’t really engage with the spirit of it.

We moved on to talk about our studies as we have both recently graduated. Darshan read engineering at Loughborough. It may be out of nerves, but he asked me three times what I did in my spare time. Embarrassing Moments?. I spilled some of my dessert on my dress. While Darshan briefly looked, he respectfully turned away. My dress had a thigh split and I liked that he didn’t stare.
