A former Harrods worker has revealed what rules there are around talking to celebrities who come to shop at the store. Maggie Anne, a beauty content creator, has shared the strict policy employees have to follow when interacting with famous faces at Harrods. She worked at the luxury London department store for two years and has now opened up on TikTok about her time there.

The beauty social media star posted a video revealing the rules she claims she had to abide by when it came to talking to celebrities at Harrods. These rules are in place because Harrods want celebrities to feel like “normal people” when shopping at their store.

Maggie explained that when you start working at Harrods you have a two or three day introduction/training period where you “get trained on all things Harrods and you learn about how to deal with celebrities. She said: “They are very strict on their rules. They do not want you to stray or go against what they say like it’s a very, very strict policy.

“So the rules were pretty simple, basically when you saw a celebrity or you are serving a celebrity for example you are not allowed to let that celebrity know at all that you know who they are. So, let’s say you meet the most famous person in the world or your most loved celebrity, let’s say you’re serving David Beckham for example.

“You are not allowed to let David Beckham know that you know who he is. You are not allowed to say that you are a fan.”. Maggie went on to say you are “definitely not allowed to ask for a picture”. She said there was a rumour that a woman who worked at Harrods was fired because she asked a celebrity for a picture but Maggie doesn’t know if this information is true as she didn’t know the employee personally herself but she admits she “wouldn’t be surprised” if this did actually happen.
