A 54-YEAR-OLD woman who has been branded ‘embarrassing’ for flashing her fit bod online has confidently hit back at cruel trolls. Lou Featherstone regularly shares pictures and videos showing off her tum and legs to her 98,000 Instagram fans, earning cheers from women who love her bold and bright looks. But despite this, recent videos of the ageless beauty boogying outdoors have caused a stir, with her comment sections swamped with pleas to dress more.

Not only this, but some slammed her age, called her ‘embarrassing’ and others said she should be ‘arrested’. While not all are keen on her flaunting her stuff on the streets, Lou reckons it's all for empowerment - for herself and other women. The Londoner spilled to What's The Jam: "My whole mission is to empower women to be themselves, find their confidence, and embrace their power in midlife.

"It’s such a huge time of transition, and menopause is a journey. "I try to inspire and motivate women to turn this next chapter into the best time of their lives instead of the dry, sexless, painful, grief-filled chapter we’re told it will be.". Lou's method to help inspire and motivate women might be a little different to the norm, as she wants to prove that mature women don't have to be 'boring'.

The content creator, who often shares fun and daring content online, was recently stopped in her tracks after a company offered her a shower chair - a device often associated with those of geriatric age. But instead of being offended, Lou decided to take it in her stride, as she shared: "Initially, I said no to the job because I didn’t think I was old enough for a shower chair – and honestly, I was a bit insulted!.

“But then I realised that if I was truly about busting age myths, I couldn’t only do it while I was fit and healthy. “I’m either authentic in my message or not. “So I took the job and decided to take the chair down to the local fountain in the park and recreate the most iconic shower scene I could think of – Flashdance!". The cheeky clip quickly went viral and has now racked up 250,000 views.

But while many people commented with praise, mean trolls were also out in full force. One said: “Put clothes on, please. Eww.". Not everyone wants to dance in a fountain in public – I do it to inspire and show people what’s possible. Another jibed: "Someone arrest her.". Whilst someone else commented: "Great to do this, but please cover up the old body… ya ain’t in yer 20s, love!". At the same time, a fourth growled: "I don’t want to see your bare nanna cheeks.".

Lou has now defended her 'shower scene' shenanigans and noted that most of the mean comments came from fellow women. But the Instagram user has used this to fuel her mission to express the benefits of self-love and accepting others, all while condemning the "outdated" comments. She admitted: "The comments were horrendous. The worst part? Most of them came from women. "Our internalised patriarchy has set us up in competition with each other. If we expect men to respect us, we have to stop tearing each other apart.

Someone arrest her. "I’m a self-love and confidence coach, and so many women are crippled with fear and anxiety because they worry about what others think. "They live half a life, fearful of judgement, while sitting in judgement of another woman who’s living her best life. "Not everyone wants to dance in a fountain in public – I do it to inspire and show people what’s possible. "We are steeped in shame and fear, handed a rulebook as children about how a woman should behave and act.
