A WOMAN who has made over £15,00 on Vinted, has shared her top tips for making sales. Vinted is an online marketplace where people can buy and sell second hand clothes, shoes and accessories. It's completely free to upload clothes to the app and Vinted does not take a cut of sellers' profits and instead charges buyers a small fee to purchase each item.
Mum of two, Madeline Hegedus never thought she would be able to make so much cash from the site, and said it took her a long time to figure out what works and what doesn't work. She revealed that one of the things that has helped her to make sales, is not having her hands in any of the photos she takes.
She explained that when taking photos, it is better to put clothes on a hanger than holding them up with your hands and said you shouldn't smooth clothes out with your hands so that the label is visible. "Apparently it's some sort of psychological thing that can put people off," she said.
Madeline revealed that she usually gives herself about two to three weeks from when she first posts a listing before making changes. She will try reducing the price and putting more keywords in the description, and if that doesn't work she just takes the items to the charity shop.
"There's no point keeping all that clutter," she said. Another one of Madeline's tips is to use the right season for the clothes you are selling. "If I'm selling a Halloween costume in January, nobody is going to buy that," she said. She recommended keeping off-season items in a special box, and then getting them out to sell when the time is right.
