An Instagram model has faced the ire of the internet after she came clean about asking recent claims that she had been kidnapped while on holiday in Nigeria. Influencer Victoria Rose, who who is better known to her followers as Whoa Vicky, had posted a series of now-deleted tweets that claimed to have kidnapped the social media star and attempted to ransom her.
One of the tweets read: “I have kidnapped Vicky. She is with me in Nigeria. I am demanding $1million for her release,” prompting widespread concern from her followers and strangers alike. However despite her apparent ‘ordeal’ not everything was as it appeared and in an Instagram Live posted on Sunday, Vicky confessed to having made the whole thing up.
Downplaying the twisted lie as a “little fun” because she was “bored”, the influencer attempted to justify her actions as she told her followers: “'We kind of got carried away with the joke, you know, we just like to have fun and joke,” she said in the Instagram Live, as seen in clips shared online.
“I don't drink or go to the club, so this is how I find my entertainment,' she argued.”You know, it's probably not the best way to do it. I'd probably be like reading the Bible or something like that.”. Professing to be a proud Christian woman, Vicky even attempted to use her faith as an excuse for her actions, as she argued it was one of the reasons she was so unapproachable. “Sometimes, you want to have a little fun,” she continued.
“The Bible said laughter is good for the soul. So I'd be wanting to laugh, and this is how I find that funny,' she said in defence of her unscrupulous actions. In a baffling twist she then went on to claim that not dating had prompted her to fake a kidnapping.
