He's a familiar face on the comedy circuit and a crowd favourite on The Last Leg, but now Josh Widdicombe is switching gears, diving into a whole new endeavour as he joins the line-up of this year's Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special. The BBC spectacular will see Vogue Williams, Tamzin Outhwaite, and Billy Monger take to the dancefloor to raise the star-shaped trophy. Tayce and Harry Aikines-Aryeetey will also take part this year.
Josh will be competing for the win with professional dancer Karen Hauer. Ahead of his debut, the comedian commented: "I am utterly terrified this will end in humiliation and worried I’m going to be so bad I will ruin Christmas for the nation. Why have I done this?".
As BBC viewers wait to see who will be crowned the winner of this year's festive extravaganza, we've looked into the star's life away from the cameras. Josh isn't the only household talent; his better half, Rose Hanson, who might not be in the spotlight directly, is a star in her own right.
As a seasoned TV producer, she's contributed to the success of laugh-a-minute programmes like 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown and Live at the Apollo. The dynamic duo got hitched back in 2019, and flipping through Rose's stellar resume, you'll find her fingerprints on revered shows from Never Mind the Buzzcocks' research department to production work for big hitters like Alan Carr: Chatty Man and Would I Lie To You?.
