Ronan Keating and his wife Storm may currently call Australia their home, but prior to their move Down Under the pair lived in a gorgeous “eco home” in the UK. Back in 2016, the duo purchased a property in the countryside and spent years turning the space into their “dream” home which was also “completely zero carbon” and harvested its own rainwater and waste. As they set to work on the project, Boyzone star Ronan, 47, and Storm set up a dedicated Instagram account in order to document the process - amassing 37,300 followers in doing so. In a post shared on the account in 2021, the pair opened up on the plans for the space and spoke about how they came up with the idea to rebuild from scratch in a way that was better for the environment.

“That’s when we conjured up the idea to design an inspirational eco home that could be an example of quality sustainable products and green living. A home that broke the common misconception that ‘eco-living’ meant compromising on quality or aesthetic,” they explained. “As time passed and our imaginations & research expanded, our dream home evolved into a completely zero carbon home which harvests its own rainwater and waste also. Our entire site with swimming pool and tennis court will also be run via solar panels and air source heat pumps, making their energy output neutral also.

“We are so proud and excited. We have also managed to connect with some the most beautiful, sustainable brands for the fit out too and we truly can’t wait to share these with you all.”. Over the years, Ronan’s wife Storm, 43, gave her followers a peek inside the stunning home as she shared snaps from the property. In addition to being eco-friendly, the space had an extremely modern feel thanks to its neutral stone exterior and floor to ceiling windows.

In one snap, the model and TV personality showed off a contemporary living space within the home that featured a large window that overlooked a series of trees and rolling hills. In keeping with the airy feel of the room provided by the window, the majority of the area was painted in an off-white colour - ideal for reflecting light and maximising space. However, to give the room some additional texture, one feature wall was transformed with wood panels and had a built-in fireplace for cosy nights on the sofa. In keeping with this natural look, Ronan and Storm kept decor neutral and opted for a white sofa, stone coffee table and an assortment of black and white coffee table books.

Elsewhere, the property’s kitchen had a similar contemporary tone and featured dark cabinets with contrasting marble worktops. Prior to their move to Australia, the pair’s home appeared to be a great space for entertaining guests and in 2023 Storm and Ronan hosted Christmas for their loved ones. In a sweet photograph the duo were joined by their family as they posed for a picture at their large marble dining table. In the background, fans caught a glimpse of the home’s lavish interiors which included a large black and white print hung on a far wall as well as a series of glossy white cabinets lining another.

Outside, the sprawling property was just as impressive and boasted enviable views across the countryside. As well as having lots of space to take in sunrises and sunsets, the outdoor area boasted some tree-lined tennis courts and a large seating area complete with its very own firepit. And while Ronan may be soaking up the sun Down Under, back in the UK he was able to catch the sun from his gorgeous pool area and adjacent outdoor dining space too.
