THE next big Apple update could be hours away from landing on your iPhone, according to hawk-eyed sleuths who have spotted a big clue regarding the upgrade. iOS 18.2 is the most anticipated Apple update this year. It is set to bring the second wave of Apple Intelligence features - which are new tools powered by artificial intelligence (AI).

It will introduce ChatGPT, the renowned chatbot that took the world by storm in November 2022. It's this extra AI power that is expected to inject more brainpower into Siri. Genmoji and Image Playground will also be introduced. While iOS 18 was introduced in September, features that require Apple Intelligence were always forecast to arrive slightly later.

It is largely considered to be Apple's most significant update ever. One clue that iOS 18.2 could be coming imminently, is the reaction from mobile network EE. The UK provider has warned customers that it a key service will not be available on today (9 December).

"We wanted to let you know that, from 09 December, you'll no longer be able to use your EE shared number service on MacBooks and iPads," the company told the Daily Mail. "[Apple] Watch functionality, along with the Apple-provided iCloud number-sharing function, won’t be affected.

"We’re sorry for any inconvenience caused by this update.". The majority of carrier updates are released alongside Apple software updates - meaning the phone company may have indirectly revealed the iOS 18.2 launch date. It's important to note that the update still might not come today.
