Xbox players have a week to play six free games before they’re gone for good

IT’S been a disappointing few months for Game Pass players, but the subscription appears to be turning things around. For the first time in what feels like forever, not only are there more games coming to the platform than leaving, but there are some great games included.
While more games are being added than are leaving this month, there are still some games we have to say goodbye to. Six games are leaving Xbox Game Pass this month, and while none of them are recent big-budget hits, there are a few we will definitely miss.
Darkest Dungeon is a critically acclaimed indie hit with a huge 85 rating on review aggregate site Metacritic. A roguelike known for its brutal difficulty, you explore dungeons with your crew, which is susceptible to the usual human conditions. Stress, depression, broken limbs, and sickness can all plague your team, making them ineffective.
Things can quickly spiral out of control, and if a party member kicks the bucket, then they are gone for good. Another game we’d like to highlight is Death’s Door, another indie hit with a huge 89 rating on Metacritic. More forgiving than Darkest Dungeon, it’s a top-down puzzle exploration game similar to the older Legend of Zelda titles.
Death’s Door is a sequel to Acid Nerve’s first game Titan Souls, an innovative game where you complete a boss rush with one arrow. You die in one hit but so do the bosses, and with limited resources fights are fast and frantic. All six games will leave Xbox Game Pass on January 31, so you have just over a week if you want to try them out.
