LUKE LITTLER has a Sky Sports commentator feeling sorry for his opponent in the World Darts Championship quarter-final. The Nuke continued his scintillating form as he raced into a two-set lead over Nathan Aspinall. He was clinical on the doubles in the opening exchanges at Ally Pally as he dropped just one leg out of the first six.

The third set did not follow the same pattern and Littler found himself 1-0 down and even lost his throw. But as Aspinall looked to seize the initiative he was met with a 180 from the teen sensation. That led one of the Sky Sports commentator to say of the sport: "It's cruel some times.".

However Aspinall recovered to win the set, with a little help from Littler who failed to convert one leg with just five left on the scoreboard. The Asp even had a bit of fun with the crowd in the next set as he hit 180 with his first throw to set up a chance at a nine-darter.

The crowd had worked itself into a frenzy as Littler had hit his sixth perfect dart, so Aspinall decided to delay his throw as the crowd jeered in anticipation. Aspinall, 33, vowed to prove people wrong ahead of the clash, claiming he is always underestimated.

He decried: "You underestimate me, all of you. I never get any respect. "I’m not going to go all Joe Cullen here, but I always get written off, no one ever talks about me, and I’m a two-time major champion and a fantastic dart player. "I’ve come through so much, come back fighting and keep proving people wrong time and time again.
