The latest episode of Ant and Dec's Limitless Win has sparked a furore among viewers after some spotted what they believed to be a blatant mistake just minutes into the quiz show. On Saturday's episode (January 11), the dynamic duo welcomed two hopefuls, Richard and Lorna, to the ITV studios, where they aimed to test their general knowledge in hopes of snagging a hefty cash prize.
This time around, the pair were eager to win big to whisk their "friends and family to a big villa somewhere in Europe.". All was going well with £30,000 already secured when they faced the question: "In meters, how long is the electrical cable on a standard Henry vacuum cleaner?".
After a bit of back-and-forth, they decided on 8 metres, but Ant and Dec announced that the correct answer was actually 10, resulting in the loss of two lives for the contestants, reports the Express. But sharp-eyed fans weren't so sure and quickly turned to Google, where they found the length listed as 8.4 metres. A flurry of viewers rushed to social media to highlight what they saw as an egregious error by the show, which had thwarted the couple from boosting their winnings.
One viewer remarked: "Interesting. Google has the Henry cable at 8.4m. Interesting for £250k #limitlesswin.". Another shared a screenshot from Google and added, "When Google says 8.4m yet @antanddec Limitless Win says 10m #limitlesswin,". One viewer simply tweeted: "Erm?? @antanddec #limitlesswin," accompanied by a screenshot of a Google search that also clearly indicated the cable length as 8.4m.
