ITV confirms major schedule changes to Coronation Street this week

Coronation Street fans are facing a shake-up to their viewing habits this week as the soap moves in the schedule. ITV1 will not air an episode on Friday 10 January in order to make way for live coverage of Aston Villa and West Ham’s FA Cup match. Instead, the hour-long episode will be broadcast a day earlier, airing tonight at the later time of 9pm on ITV1. It is also already available to stream on ITVX.

Up Next. An hour-long episode of Emmerdale begins at 7.30pm, with Keep, Chuck or Cash In? The Big Clear-Out airing between the two soaps at 8.30pm.
Corrie will return as usual on Monday, airing at the regular time of 8pm. It’s been a big start to the year for Coronation Street fans, having been defined by a number of cast exit announcements. Last week Sue Cleaver announced she is leaving her role as Eileen Grimshaw behind after 25 years on the Street.
This was then followed by the news Colson Smith is being written out as Craig Tinker after four years – on the same day that Luca Toolan’s Mason Radcliffe was killed off on screen. Since then, it has been revealed Charlotte Jordan has quit her role as Daisy Midgeley after a dramatic four years in the soap, explaining that she wants to ‘explore other opportunities.’.
