The 1% Club left viewers heartbroken after the final question wiped out all remaining contestants. However, fans at home claimed it was the "easiest ever" on the challenging show. The unique quiz show returned on Saturday night (February 1st) for its second episode in the new series, offering players a chance to win up to £100,000. Comedian Lee Mack hosts the show, where each week 100 new contestants are chosen to answer logic-based questions that progressively get harder. The first question is one that 90% of Brits could answer, according to a survey conducted by the show's producers.

However, the last question is one that only 1% of people can answer correctly. In this episode, five players made it to the very end. They were faced with the tough decision of either taking home a share of £10,000 - worth £2,000 each - or risking it all to answer the final question for a chance to win the grand prize of £96,000, reports Birmingham Live. Only one contestant, Christopher, decided to take his share, expressing that he felt his luck might run out. The other four continued to play - but only one answered, and unfortunately got it wrong, meaning no-one took home any money.

The 1% question was: "The words below share a specific pattern. Why could VOTING also be part of the group? BANDLEADER NICKELODEON SILVERBACK.". The answer was that they all contain the names of metals. LEAD NICKEL SILVER - and TIN in VOTING. Fans of the show took to social media to express their opinions. One viewer posted: "That was the easiest 1% question I can remember. Thought it must be wrong as it couldn't be that easy. Amazed not one of them had a clue.".

A second viewer remarked: "That seemed a pretty easy 1% Question to me? #The1PercentClub.". Others agreed, adding: "They're a bit too easy so far tonight… #The1PercentClub" and "that last question was p*** easy. Can't believe they didn't see that. #The1PercentClub.". A fifth online user complained: "Second week in a row that I've got the 1% question right! I thought tonight’s was particularly easy so I’m surprised that none of them got it #The1PercentClub.".
