A man has been forced to declare his housemate's girlfriend persona non grata in their shared kitchen after she repeatedly failed to clean up. The frustrated fellow took to social media to air his grievances, revealing that the partner of his flatmate persistently neglects tidiness since moving in several months ago. In a frustrated Reddit post, he detailed: "Usually there's no issue between us over the kitchen since we both clean up after ourselves. The problem is his girlfriend.".
He's noticed a stark difference in kitchen etiquette when she's cooking alone versus when her boyfriend joins in. "Twice now she's gotten milk at some point in the night and left the container on the counter. When they cook together, he cleans up and there's no issue. When she makes something for herself, she doesn't clean up," he explained.
The fed-up chap continued to disclose the chaos she leaves behind. "I'll go into the kitchen and there will be knives and cutting boards out. Crumbs and bits of vegetables or cheese on the counter. Dishes piled in the sink.". While he doesn't expect dishes to be washed immediately, her laissez-faire approach to leaving them unwashed indefinitely is causing friction, especially when he needs to use the kitchen too. Despite raising the matter with his roomie several times, the situation remains the same - the girlfriend hasn't changed her ways one bit, he confirmed.
However, things came to a head when the boyfriend was urgently called into work, leaving his girlfriend alone in the house with the Reddit user. Two hours later, as he was about to leave, he noticed that the girlfriend had been cooking but hadn't cleaned up after herself.
