Jackie 'O' Henderson has confirmed she lost her driver's licence following mounting speculation. The radio host, who celebrated her 50th birthday on Friday, revealed on the Kyle & Jackie O show that she's no longer permitted to drive. Daily Mail Australia was the first to report on speculation that Jackie had lost her licence and was being ferried around Sydney in her SUV by an elderly gentleman who isn't related to her.
Speaking with fellow KIIS FM stars Cooper Johns and newsreader Brooklyn Ross, the blonde beauty revealed she'd been gifted a trip to the Blue Mountains, New South Wales, by her friend Gemma O'Neill for her milestone birthday. But she questioned how she was going to travel to her weekend away, which is more than 110km away from her home in Sydney's eastern suburbs, now that she is unable to drive herself there.
'Gemma – my best friend – she's given me a weekend away to a silent retreat,' she said live on air. Jackie 'O' Henderson has confirmed she lost her driver's licence. 'I'm gonna have to catch the train because it's to the Blue Mountains and I don't have my licence!'.
What is normally a 1.5-hour drive to the Blue Mountains will end up taking double the amount of time on public transport for Jackie, with the star likely having to catch a bus and two trains to get to her destination in just over three hours. Jackie rang in her 50th birthday in style live on-air on Friday with her KIIS FM co-stars - but there was one notable person missing from the celebrations. The radio star's colleagues threw a lavish birthday party to mark the milestone occasion, however Kyle Sandilands was not in attendance because he was off sick.
The blonde beauty was treated to a huge table of party food and posters featuring never-before-seen throwback photos of Jackie as a child set up to commemorate the event. She was joined by her close friends, including show producers Intern Pete Deppeler and Cooper Johns, as well as her daughter Kitty, who sweetly called in to wish her mum a happy birthday. Jackie looked flawless and half her age on her big day as she had fun with her co-stars.
'We'll be taking the train, there's yoga and deep-guided meditation!' she said. Sadly, Kyle was a no-show and did not make an appearance throughout the morning. Jackie once described her best friend and colleague of 20 years Kyle as her 'ride or die.'. Now, the 50-year-old has enshrined that sentiment into her legally binding $100million contract with KIIS FM. The pair signed a record-breaking $200 million deal with Australian Radio Network (ARN) in November 2023 that will see them remain on airwaves until 2034 - earning a whopping $10million per year salary each.
On Thursday, the duo opened up about what their extensive contracts stated would happen to the show if one of them were to pass away. 'I've got a whole page in there about what happens if you die,' Jackie told Kyle. 'I've got that as well, had that for quite a few years. I think you only just put that in yours this year,' Kyle added. 'Wait. Why was I in yours? Was I more likely to die?' Jackie exclaimed.
Her colleagues set up several collages of Jackie around the office. Sadly, Kyle was a no-show and did not make an appearance because he was sick. Kyle reassured her the death clause is something the lawyers came up with years ago, and the new deal was a chance for Jackie to add her own individual stipulations. 'The lawyers rang me when they were doing this new deal and said "Jackie wants this death clause",' he said.
'I said, well, she should get that. I've had that for years.'. As part of Jackie's contract, the host specified she wanted the option to leave the show if Kyle died. 'So, what would have happened to me prior if you'd have died? Like what?' Jackie asked him, which Kyle didn't know. 'My contract would have still stood,' she suddenly realised. 'Now it’s weakened.'. Nevertheless, Jackie said she felt good about her heartfelt choice to honour their 20 years of friendship in the hypothetical face of Kyle's death.
