Many people's favourite comfort dish, spaghetti bolognese, is not only scrumptious but it's also a choice pick for health-conscious foodies. Full of lean protein from the meat and brimming with veggies, plus those sweet tomatoes, it's a feast of good-for-you ingredients. And let's not forget the personal twists everyone adds to this much-loved classic.

But hold onto your forks because Jamie Oliver has dished up a version that promises to be a crowd-pleaser, especially for the little ones. Sharing his recipe on his website, the celebrity chef boasted: "This is a great version of the classic Italian Bolognese – reliable, tasty and easy to put together. Brilliant for kids!".

He knows busy life means meals need to count for more, so he's crafted a dish that stores like a dream for leftovers, meaning you can cook once and relish it all week. Ingredients. Method. First, peel your garlic, onions, carrots, give them a chop with some celery sticks and don’t skip the rosemary leaves, finely chopped. Set these aside. Next, slice your bacon or pancetta thin before firing up a large pan with a glug of olive oil over a medium heat, reports the Express.

Toss in your finely prepped ingredients and let them simmer away under a barely-there lid for about 10 to 15 minutes until they’re soft and golden, stirring once in a while. Then comes the mince - stir it in and crank up the heat. Keep at it until it’s perfectly browned, breaking it up as you go along. Time to add the tomatoes, purée, vinegar, and bay leaves, then pop the kettle on.
