Jim Carrey has hinted at the character he's itching to portray "one more time". The comedy legend, who boasts a host of memorable roles such as Truman Burbank in The Truman Show and the darkly intriguing lead in The Cable Guy, is drawn to one character in particular.

Carrey, 62, recently ditched his retirement plans and reprised his role in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. He confirmed his comeback as Doctor Robotnik for the third film based on SEGA's iconic video game, despite previously indicating that his stint in the sequel would be his last role.

The star, known for hits like Yes Man, Bruce Almighty, and Liar Liar, has now shared which role he's keen to revisit. In a recent interview, when quizzed about any character he'd jump at the chance to play again, Carrey seemed momentarily perplexed, uttering "gosh," before confirming his choice.

Admirers of the Christmas favourite The Grinch could rejoice, as Carrey seems open to donning the green suit once more. He said: "If we could figure out The Grinch. That'd be difficult.". While crafting a follow-up to Ron Howard's festive blockbuster might be challenging, the interviewer humorously suggested that someone will "try and figure it out now".

Carrey added: "You know, the thing about it is, is that on the day I had to do that with a ton of makeup and I could hardly breathe and I went, you know, it was an extremely excruciating process. The children were in my mind all the time. 'It's for the kids, for the kids, the kids.'.
