Justin Baldoni accuses Ryan Reynolds of 'aggressively berating' him after 'fat-shaming' Blake Lively

Justin Baldoni accused Ryan Reynolds of 'berating' him in an 'aggressive' manner after he allegedly 'fat-shamed' his It Ends With Us co-star Blake Lively. On December 20, Lively lodged an extensive 80-page legal complaint against Baldoni. Part of her complaint accuses him of trying to "destroy her reputation" as well as sexual harassment. He denies the allegations against him. She filed a second lawsuit this week and accused him of causing "severe emotional distress and pain, humiliation and embarrassment".
Baldoni filed a lawsuit of his own, but agains The New York Times, who published an article called ' We Can Bury Anyone’ : Inside a Hollywood Smear Machine. The lengthy article included the claims that Baldoni and his team were trying to create a smear campaign against Lively. The NYT said they "plan to vigorously defend against the lawsuit.".
His lawsuit is primarily against the publication, but it does mention Lively by including her naming her husband, Reynolds. However, Reynolds and Lively are not named defendants in Baldoni's lawsuit against the Times. In the legal documents , he alleges that the Deadpool actor "berated" him in an "aggressive" manner and accused him of "fat-shaming" his wife.
The altercation allegedly happened during a meeting held at the couple's home in New York City on January 4, 2024. The meeting was also attended by other It Ends With Us producers as well as a rep for Sony. Baldoni also asserts that he apologized profusely at the time.
"They arrived eager to discuss plans for the next day’s filming, prepared with their production materials. Instead, they were blindsided by Lively and Reynolds, who presented a list of grievances that were both unanticipated and troubling," the documents read, as reported by Variety.
