Melissa Gilbert decided to school Megyn Kelly on her Little House on the Prairie facts. Kelly, 54, shared a link to a Hollywood Reporter story about the Netflix reboot of the series on X (formerly Twitter). 'If you wokeify Little House on the Prairie I will make it my singular mission to absolutely ruin your project,' she wrote. Melissa got wind of Kelly's mean-spirited tweet and didn't hold anything back in her reply. 'Apparently Megyn tweeted (I'm not on that platform) asking that Netflix not "woke-ify" their Little House remake. Umm…watch the original again. Melissa played Laura Ingalls in the beloved television series that ran for nine seasons starting in 1974. The new show will be 'part hopeful, family drama, part epic survival tale and part origin story of the American West,' per a release from the streamer. 'This fresh adaptation of Laura Ingalls Wilder’s iconic semi-autobiographical Little House books offers a kaleidoscopic view of the struggles and triumphs of those who shaped the frontier.'. The original series was set in the midwest in the 1870s when the 'west' was being settled by families seeking new frontiers.

One of the commenters on Melissa's post called Megyn, 'a real life Nellie Oleson,' referring to the spoiled bully character and Laura's nemesis played by Alison Arngrim. In June, the Little House on the Prairie cast reunited at the Monte Carlo Television Festival in Monaco. Karen Grassle, Alison Arngrim, Melissa Sue Anderson, Matthew Labyorteaux, and Wendi Lou Lee sat on a panel and reflected on their favorite memories from the show.

They also addressed fans questions about a reboot or reunion of the series. 'There have been lots of attempts to do a Little House on the Prairie again,' Grassle, 82, who played the show's matriarch Caroline Ingalls, explained to People. 'There have been shows, there have been a musical, and I think we had a unique experience and it can't be repeated.'. 'Michael [Landon] was a genius at casting and writing,' she added of her onscreen husband, who played Charles Ingalls.
