A car used in a drive-by shooting at a London church has been found torched, police have said. The Metropolitan Police today said the black Kia was abandoned in Barnhill Road before being set alight. They believe the vehicle, with distinctive alloys, was driven by suspects who fired several shots during a wake at a church in Gifford Road, in Brent, on December 14.

Michelle Sadio, 44, died at the scene and two others were injured in the shooting. Police were alerted at 9.15pm on the Saturday following reports of a shooting outside the church. Michelle and others were standing outside following a wake. Her family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers, according to a Met Police spokesperson. Two men, aged in their 30s were taken to hospital with one being in a critical condition and the other's injuries not being life threatening.

CCTV showed the moment the gunman opened fire as a total of seven shots were heard ringing out amid screams of terror from the group who had been attending a church ceremony on the other side of the road. Pastor Lawrence Larbie said there was a wake that was due to finish at 10pm. People came rushing into the church at 9.15pm, saying there had been a shooting.

"They came with very deadly, evil intentions to cause death," the pastor told MyLondon. "The car just drove through. The victims were people attending the wake. They were probably on their way home.". Police have since launched an investigation in a bid to learn more about the fatal shooting and the circumstances around it. There have been no arrests in connection with the shooting.
